Changing Bio was founded in 2017 and is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development, and industrialization of biological synthetic proteins and microbial proteins. It is one of the first Chinese food technology companies with dual-track technology capabilities in microbial proteins and recombinant proteins.

 

In the fields of food synthetic biology and microbial proteins, Changing Bio has obtained more than ten patents* and over a hundred technical secrets. The research and development team consists of dozens of doctoral advisors, Ph.D. and master's degree holders. Their main products include "cell factory"-secreted casein and microbial cell proteins. Changing Bio is one of the Chinese companies (and one of the global leaders) that has reached the industrialization threshold in the field of edible microbial proteins.

 

Their first production line (Qingdao changing Biotech Co. , Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai changing Biotech Co. , Ltd.) has obtained food production permits and has started production. They have also achieved various quality certifications, including FSSC22000, ISO22000, HACCP, and others.

 

 

Our company's headquarters and research center are located in Zhangjiang Science City, Shanghai. Leveraging the advantages of this strategic location and the industry, we have successfully completed pilot and mid-scale trials of microbial synthetic protein projects. The industrialization of microbial cell protein has been implemented in the Qingdao Sino-German Ecopark.

 

Our development direction aligns with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speeches on "seeking energy and protein from microbes" and "nurturing new revolutions in the field of life sciences, represented by synthetic biology, gene editing, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and more."
